VIDEO/PHOTOS: Israel Prison Service Intercepts Smuggling Of Mobile Devices

Israel Prison Service (IPS) officials intercepted the largest attempt to smuggle mobile devices to date on a detainee’s body.

A security detainee who arrived on Shabbos, 8 Nissan, at the Ofer Prison aroused the guards’ suspicion. The detainee (without organizational affiliation) was interrogated by the IPS’s Dror Unit and was found hiding five small cell phones, twenty-three SIM cards, five memory cards and eleven spare parts for a cell phones on his person.

The detainee was transferred to solitary confinement and an investigation opened against him.

This is not the first time that the terrorist organizations have tried to smuggle in various ways cell phones and other prohibited means, including on the body of a civilian and creating a situation in which he is intentionally arrested and transfers these measures to the prisoners.
