Minister of Culture & Sports (Likud) Miri Regev announced she would do her utmost to have Elor Azariya�s criminal record expunged. She made her comments on Tuesday, 23 Iyar, after the former IDF soldier was released from prison after serving a sentence after being convicted of manslaughter for shooting a wounded Arab terrorist.

Regev joins Minister Yisrael Katz, who following Azariya�s release stated he would ask President Reuven Rivlin to expunge his criminal record to facilitate Elor�s efforts to get on with his life after being released from prison.

Regev spoke with Elor�s parents, visiting their home, wishing them well upon his release. She promised Elor�s dad she will continue standing by his side by trying to have his criminal record removed to facilitate his moving forward in life.
