IDF And Police To Remain On High Alert For 2nd Friday Of Ramadan

Both Israel Police and the IDF, and their various specialized units, will remain on high alert on Friday, 11 Sivan, the second Friday of the Muslim month of Ramadan. Restrictions are in place for praying on Har Habayis, which take effect Friday morning at 6:00PM.

Police, in uniform and plainclothes, will be out in large numbers in and around Har Habayis and Jerusalem’s Old City as well as in other ‘sensitive areas’. Traffic and other restrictions will be in place in effected areas in and around the Old City as well.

It appears the level of operational preparedness is higher as police report a significant increase in rock-throwing and other acts of terror since the beginning of the month of Ramadan.
