Beit Shemesh: Chareidi Extremist Who Smashed Womans iPhone Viewed As A Danger To The Public

The detention of ‘S’, a known personality among the extremists in Beit Shemesh, was made after an evaluation determined he poses a danger to the public.

A woman with a chareidi appearance reported that when she walked innocently through the streets of her town a few months ago a chareidi man approached her and grabbed her iPhone and immediately shattered it.

After the incident, she filed a complaint with the Beit Shemesh police station, and a few weeks ago he was arrested, under the cover of the wave of arrests in the corruption case in the city.

After the extension of a previous detention, Jerusalem Magistrates Court Judge David Shaul Gabbai Richter recently extended the suspect’s remand, this time until the end of the proceedings against him.

The extension was explained, among other things, by the results of a report prepared, which indicated that he posed a danger to the public safety.

  1. If its the service of Hashem we are talking about then how come this man who has offended Hashem more than a lady walking down a street is not taken to task by kanoim in the area
Not that either is right but it seems logical
Have we become policeman of Hashem?
Not many of us are fit to be no-one has not sinned!!!

  2. I do not know how people in the guise of being very very religious can do acts that are simply forbidden. The guy (idiot) is a mazik simple and clear and should have to pay damages according to the Torah.

But hopefully the secular courts will put him in jail with some Arabs so he can learn more Koran ’cause it is obvious that he does not act in accordance with the Torah….

  3. It is quite common for people with mental health issues to confuse their ideas with religion. The majority of frum, even kanoim, don’t go around assaulting strangers. Political demonstrations may be an exception, but I strongly suspect that most of these types need a psychiatrist.
