Police on Wednesday afternoon 22 Sivan closed down Poalei Zedek Street in the Talpiot area of the southern capital due to a hazardous materials incident.

According to a fire department spokesman, four fire apparatus responded including a hazmat unit.

It appears someone spilled an unidentified caustic solution on a building roof. Police report the substance leaked from a tank on a roof.

Firemen contained the substance and removed it. There were no reports of injuries.
