Evangelical UN Special Envoy Commends US Exit From UNHRC

Deacon Laurie Cardoza-Moore, United Nations Special Envoy for the World Council of Independent Christian Churches (WCICC), which represents 40 million Evangelical Christians worldwide, and Founder of Proclaiming Justice to The Nations (PJTN), commends the United States for exiting the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) calling it a bold and courageous move.

The United States on Tuesday announced it was leaving the UN Human Rights Council, with Ambassador Nikki Haley calling it, “A protector of human rights abusers, and a cesspool of political bias.”

“The United States exit from the corrupt UNHRC will bring a blessing to America for standing up to purveyors of hate. For too long the so-called Human Rights Council has defamed and demonized the Jewish State while supporting rogues and tyrants, but their game is up! The book of Genesis is crystal clear that “those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed”. Millions of Christians in America and around the globe believe that it’s time that the United Nations understand that those who curse Israel will be cursed. Until this corrupt body changes its ways and upholds its mandate instead of scapegoating Israel, no freedom loving nation should associate with this organization, lending legitimacy to its blatant hypocrisy.”

The Prime Minister’s Office also released a statement, thanking and praising the US’ decision.

“Israel thanks President Trump, Secretary Pompeo and Ambassador Haley for their courageous decision against the hypocrisy and the lies of the so-called UN Human Rights Council.

“For years, the UNHRC has proven to be a biased, hostile, anti-Israel organization that has betrayed its mission of protecting human rights.

“Instead of dealing with regimes that systematically violate human rights, the UNHRC obsessively focuses on Israel, the one genuine democracy in the Middle East.

“The US decision to leave this prejudiced body is an unequivocal statement that enough is enough.

“Israel welcomes the American announcement.”
