On Thursday evening, Deputy Health Minister and leader of the United Torah Judaism party in the Knesset Yaakov Litzman arrived at the home of Hagaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky to consult with the Gadol Hador regarding how he should act during the Knesset proceedings about the Conscription Law. Litzman explained the minutia of the proposed law during which Rav Kanievsky listened intently. He then told Litzman that he must proceed with a unified front and act together with the other factions of his party and the other Charedi parties.
Litzman also visited the home of Ponavez Rosh Yeshiva Hagaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein and informed him about the details of the law as well.
Other Charedi MKs Meir Porush and Uri Maklev met with Rabbi Chaim Aharon Kaufman, the head of the Yeshiva Committee with Attorney Yitzchak Meron who is monitoring the proceedings of the conscription law on behalf of the Charedi parties.
Those gathered attempted to go through all of the details about the law in an effort to come to an agreement regarding the finer details that all of the Charedi parties could agree upon before it gets brought to the Knesset for its second and third readings and an agreed upon phrasing that would hold up in front of the High Court of Justice.

They really think that any one believes that they will honestly impart the minute details to the gedolim?!?
They don’t have the guts to stand up & say NO! We will not support a law that is a calamity for Klal yisroel, so they supposedly “consult” with the gedolim & then do as they see fit.
Which exeactly how the Holy Satmar Rov accuratly predicted 55 years ago in his magnum opus the “V’yoel Moshe”
That the gedolim of the Aguda will basically become a tool of the polititions, as we sadly see today

What I said was, that the politicians won’t be honest when presenting the issues to the gedolim,
You really believe that Litzman & Co. Presented all the facts? No, they are scared that the Holy tzaddik & godol hador, Reb Chaim, might tell them to vote against, or even worse leave to coalition.
Litzman & his cohorts won’t allow this, and will do anything to save their dirty Kenesset chair.
Mogold: the gedolim have many sources of information besides Litzman, Porush, etc. When the MKs come in to them, rabbonim know exactly who they are and what they represent. And no, the gedolim weren’t born yesterday.
