Egalitarian Prayer Area At The Kosel Back In Shaked’s Lap

Following the resignation of Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked last week from the committee addressing planned renovations at the Kosel to accommodate egalitarian prayer, Minister of Religious Affairs David Azoulai responded to a request by the Chief Rabbis, demanding that a new regulation be amended to allow the preservation of the Kosel exclusively by Orthodox Jewry.

Minister Azoulai decided to bring it to the forefront before Shaked even saw the letter from the Chief Rabbis.

In the letter sent by Chief Rabbis to Minister Azoulai, they demand that the regulations for the preservation of the holy places be changed so that it will be written clearly that the regulations apply to the entire length of the Kosel Plaza and not only the Kosel itself, but throughout the entire western side of Har Habayis.

The new regulation intends to torpedo efforts to allocate an area in the southern Kosel area to accommodate egalitarian prayer for Reform and Conservative Jewry as well as the monthly exhibition and provocation by Women of the Wall, who regularly smuggle a Sefer Torah into the ezras noshim and other actions which are in defiance of High Court of Justice rulings.

According to current law, the Minister of Religious Affairs holds the authority to amend regulations vis-à-vis the Kosel in line with a request from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. However, the Minister of Justice is also required to sign off on the changes.

  1. the reform do NOT pray at the Kotel, they PLAY at the kotel. They play as if they are praying but since the deformed reform to not recognize G-d, to whom do they pray?

So do not use the word “PRAY” rather use the word “PLAY” as in children who pretend play.

  2. It is very interesting that the Non-Jew has more respect for the Kosel than the “reform”. The do not really believe in Hashem for them, it is a big show. Its a shame because alot of the Reform are not really blood jews, they where given Geyrus by some make believe so called “Rabbi” What they do not seem to realize is that there was a Ezras Nashim in the Beis Hamikdash like there is one at the Kosel. Another issue is is that they have no idea how important the Teffila of a women is just like the Sefarim say. It supposed to be done quietly with tznius, not making a whole show out of it.
