Minister Naftali Bennett said Sunday morning during an interview with Noam Zeigman of Kol Berama Radio that he is prepared to do everything necessary to evacuate the southern region, in order to bring about a major military operation against Hamas.

Bennett, who is a member of the Political-Security Cabinet, is scheduled to meet on Sunday, 3 Menachem Av, at the special meeting convened by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, and he will arrive there with a very clear position on the course of action against Hamas. He said he had placed a plan to disarm Gaza on the PM’s table, a plan he is not interested in revealing at this time.

He explained his plan calls for the unilateral disarming of Gaza and to strip Hamas of capabilities so that it cannot harm Israel for quite some time. He plans to fight for the implementation of his plan, decrying the continued restraint policies, which he feels only serve to weaken Israel in Hamas’ eyes and serves as an incentive for continued attacks.

Bennett attacked Defense Minister Lieberman and said, “My plan does not accept restraint, the defense minister leads to the plan of restraint and containment, and I do not accept the approach of threats and talk against Haniyeh.” Bennet added he disagrees with the Defense Minister regarding the Israeli response.
