PHOTOS: Israel Police Chief Visits a Chareidi School on Rosh Chodesh Elul

(PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

Israel Police Chief Roni Alshich on Sunday, 1 Elul, visited a chareidi first grade as chareidi boys schools began on rosh chodesh, as opposed to Israel’s public schools, and most chareidi girl’s schools, which begin on September 1, 2018.

Accompanied by Deputy Jerusalem Police Chief Eli Cazri, Alshich visited Talmid Torah Ma’ane Simcha, in the Romeima neighborhood. They met with the talmidim and school administration.

Alshich spoke with the students and told them that the police is a force בין אדם לחברו because everything they do is between man and man, as they work to alert drivers to be extra careful when driving near schools and how they must always be alert to pedestrians. “Our job, among other things, is to make sure that you, the children of the talmid torah, who are starting the school year on Rosh Chodesh Elul, will be meticulous about good and respectful behavior, and certainly for the rabbonim and teachers”.

Before meeting with the children, the chief and deputy Jerusalem chief met with Rabbi Moshe Schlesinger, rav of the school. The rav explained some details of the school and its 350 talmidim.
