IDF Chief: Slim Chance of a Chemical Weapons Attack

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz in an address to Jerusalem students waiting to enter the military that in his opinion, despite concerns focused towards Syria, the chance of a chemical attack remains very slim. He added that Israel has both defensive and offensive solutions to such a scenario however.

He expressed his hope that the quiet which prevails along the border to Syria continues, explaining the IDF stands prepared and reinforced along the border.

Channel 10 News reported on Sunday night 7 Adar 5773 that the military established a new outpost along the border with Syria as troop deployment in that area has been significantly increased in response to growing concerns of an influx of Syrian refugees heading to Israel.
