Israel Police Prepared For Rosh Hashanah 5779


The Israel Police has completed preparations for erev Rosh Hashanah in Yerushalayim. Border Police officers, national reinforcements and volunteers will deploy throughout the city, in crowded places, shopping centers and markets, around the Old City and its alleyways and in the area of shuls to maintain order and security, to secure the safety of mispallalim and to direct traffic.

The preparations will begin in the pre-holiday days, in which police officers, border police, and volunteers will be stationed throughout the city, in crowded places and in shopping centers, as well as the slichos tours that take place throughout the city every day.

The security system in the Jerusalem envelope will be used to prevent the entry of hostile elements and the activity of the traffic arteries will be increased.

During Rosh Hashanah, activity will be intensified around the Old City and its alleyways along the routes of the mispallalim heading to and from the Kosel. On erev Rosh Hashanah, the entrance to the Old City will be closed to non-resident vehicles, referring to the Yaffa Gate.

Police call on the tzibur to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious immediately. Police also call on the tzibur to exhibit patience and to comply with instructions from all law enforcement personnel at all times.
