Deri Responds To Angry Tel Aviv Residents Who Burned His Photo

Shas party chairman, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri on Wednesday, participated in opening the Shas election headquarters in Tel Aviv. In his comments, he stated “not a single infiltrator entered the country since he entered office. In addition, about 20,000 illegals have been expelled to date, including this year…”

Deri was actually responding to southern Tel Aviv residents, who burned photos of him during an angry protest last week, leading to additional security for the cabinet minister. The residents of southern Tel Aviv insist the illegals have overrun the area, which is now crime-ridden, and many are scared to walk outdoors.

Deri also said that his party is continuing to act to the best of its ability to prevent the suffering of the residents of the neighborhoods. Even if forced to stay with a certain number of infiltrators, they will not be in southern Tel Aviv but dispersed throughout the country. “These neighborhoods must be returned to the residents. Even following the evacuation, it is necessary to ensure that there will have developers coming in and trying to broker large real estate transactions that will change the special character of the area.”
