1000s Visit Kever Yosef To Mark The Abandonment Of The Site By Israel

Marking 18 years since Israel literally fled and gave up control of Kever Yosef, thousands of mispallalim arrived on Sunday night at the holy site, located in Shechem, which remains under PA (Palestine Authority) occupation.

The event occurred 18 years ago, on 8 Tishrei, when border policeman Madhat Yousef was permitted to bleed to death by Israeli decision makers, primarily Ehud Barak, rather than risk an armed conflict with the Palestinians during a rescue operation. Despite calls to order troops into the area to save Yousef and extricate the border police force, Barak preferred to negotiate while the young soldier literally bled to death over a period of several hours.

Yossi Dagan, head of the Shomron Regional Council recited Keil Molei Rachamim for persons murdered at the site, on their way to the site, in the Shomron, and for the Druze soldier, Mahdat Yousef.

  1. as you judge the actions by the head of the government of Israel, so the HEAD OF THE UNIVERSE might choose to judge you shortly. hindsight is 20/20; governments that send armies to war can cause casualties.
