PHOTOS: The Largest Sukkah In The Middle East In Netanya

(PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

Construction of the Great Sukkah, billed as the “largest sukka in the Middle East,” was completed at the Emunah Children’s Home in Netanya.

The 450-square-meter sukkah was built and designed by the children and staff at the boarding school.

The Emunah Children’s Home is home to about 200 children with no family structure. The Sukkah will be used by children and staff during Sukkos and among scheduled guests are Yaakov Shwekey and musician Nathaniel Kuperman and his band.

In the sukkah, decorations designed by Na’ama Henkin HY”D are displayed. She was murdered on Sukkos 5777, two years ago.

The Sukkah, which has been built for several years, hosted the ambassadors of the United States, graduates of Beit HaYeled and their families, and more.

“We see great importance in connecting the children to the sukkah. There are children here who celebrate the Yomtov with us because they have nowhere to go back to where they can celebrate Sukkos,” says Yehuda Cohen, head of the home.

“As a graduate of the Emunah Children’s Home, I am happy to come back here every year – this time as an educational coordinator,” says Asya Peer, a coordinator at Beit HaYeled.
