Northern district police reported on Monday afternoon they are probing a stabbing incident in which a 32-year-old resident of the northern community of Yavniel stabbed his mother (59) and brother (25), leaving them with only light injuries B’chasdei Hashem. They were transported to Poriah Hospital in Tiveria.

Two policemen sustained light injuries as well, as they were attacked by the suspect as he resisted arrest. He is now in custody and will face an array of charges.

The suspect will be sent for psychiatric evaluation and is scheduled to be arraigned in the Tiveria Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 14 Marcheshvan.
