Cache of Ammunition and Weapons Found In a School Courtyard in Ramle


An elementary school principal in the Joarish neighborhood of Ramle notified the police on Wednesday morning regarding a suspicious looking hole that was dug up in the courtyard of the school. According to reports in Israeli media, the principal walked over to the hole and noticed a bag that had been buried there that looked suspicious, that is when she notified the police.

Police officers who arrived at the scene alerted the bomb squad who arrived and deactivated the various armaments that were found inside the bag. The armaments included numerous magazine cartridges for pistols, a large quantity of bullets, an M16 and a shock grenade. The ammunition and magazines were taken to the nearest police station and a full investigation into the incident is being undertaken. No suspects have been taken into custody, nor is there any clear motive for why the bag was stashed in the schoolyard.
