In letter, Minister Erdan Urges Illinois Governor to Take Action Against Airbnb

Minister of Strategic Affairs Gilad Erdan has sent a letter addressing the recent Airbnb boycott of Jewish communities throughout Yehuda and Shomron, to the Governor of Illinois, seeking assistance and intervention in addressing the problem.

In his letter, he cites the long-time firm bond that exists between the state and Israel, now calling for assistance in battling the Airbnb boycott against venues throughout Yehuda and Shomron, referring to the Jewish areas as the “occupied West Bank” of Jordan.

Erdan calls on Illinois to stand by Israel’s side and assist in denouncing the boycott and to reverse the Airbnb decision.

  1. Seems that concrete examples are missing. There are a number of American citizens (who might not even be Israeli citizens) who own property there who are being denied the services of the American company for reasons that seem to be based on discrimination of religion. Would the company also refuse to advertise Muslims who own property there?
