Hezbollah Converts Border Villages To Bases To Increase Operational Abilities

The Southern Lebanese Shiite farming village of Kila, which is home to some 10,000 residents, has become a military installation for Hezbollah, now hosting troops, equipment and observation posts. Recently-released video footage shows Hezbollah constantly monitoring IDF border activities, including the ongoing operation to locate terror tunnels, Operation Northern Shield, showing soldiers and vehicles as they move about. The first terrorist tunnel from S. Lebanon was founded in Kila, as reported by YWN-Israel.

Many Hezbollah fighters have made the village their home, with Yediot Achronot reporting in the event of a war with Israel, these forces would be backed up by additional Hezbollah troops, Special Forces who for the past years, have been engaged in the fighting in the Syrian civil war; and they are therefore quite experienced. The Yediot report explains the situation in Kila is not unique, and the same is true for other border villages, which would facilitate assaults against northern Israeli cities and municipalities in time of war.

It is explained that Kila would be used as a launch pad to fire rockets into border municipalities including Metula and Kiryat Shmona. It would also permit ground forces to leave the village and head into the same Israeli communities.

While IDF and government leaders continue to insist the ongoing operation does not signal cause for concern in the northern region, Hezbollah continue its rhetoric, which includes the planned takeover of the Galil from Israel. The terrorist army continues training and working hard to build its arsenal, which enjoys the backing of Iran, as Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has been warning for years.

Yediot reports on Hezbollah’s elite ‘al-Hajj Radwan’ unit, named after the terrorist organization’s deputy commander, Imad Mughniyeh, who was killed in 2017, an assassination attributed to Israel. This elite force is under the command of Abu Ali Tabatabai, training special forces for the most dangerous missions undertaken by Hezbollah.
