MKs Agree to Protect Politician’s Name in an Election Year

The Knesset on Thursday passed a law stating it is forbidden to publicize the name of an elected official suspected of a crime during an election year.

The law seeks to protect public officials from careless media reports of intentional slanderous news that may have a profound impact on an election campaign.
