Ad Company To Compensate Baruch Marzel NIS 38,000 For Removing Sign Pertaining To Kahana Memorial

After removing a sign advertising a memorial event for Rabbi Meir Kahana HY”D, the advertising company will have to compensate Baruch Marzel and the Otzma Yehudit party NIS 38,000 for removing it.

According to the Chareidim10 News report, as Rabbi Kahana’s yahrzeit approached, signs announcing the annual memorial event were posted throughout Jerusalem, inviting the public to participate. However, two days after signs were posted, due to left-wing pressure, the advertising company broke its contract and removed the signs it was paid to post.

Baruch Marzel filed a suit via attorney Itamar Ben-Givir for the company violating the contract. In the lawsuit, Ben-Givir stipulated the contract was broken when the company decided to cave in to left-wing political pressure, unilaterally removing signs. The head of the company only informed them the signs were removed after the fact. The court ordered the NIS 38,000 compensatory payment.

Attorney Itamar Ben-Givir, one of the leaders of Otzma Yehudit, who filed the lawsuit: “The money received will be used by the Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) movement for a new outdoor campaign in memory of Rabbi Meir Kahane. Every advertising company will know that freedom of expression is valid for right-wing activists, and if it violates a contract or discriminates against us, it will have to pay, and it will be harmed in its pocket.”
