The so called Nachal Chareidi consists of mostly daati enlistees. The minority of members who are Chareidim are mostly those who grew up Chareidi but left Chareidi life for something less religious or irreligious.
as long as women are part of the regular army (i am referring teenage girls being in the next room in what was mens only barracks in isolated outposts) to boost the morale of the men it is not an army for any Jew
