WATCH: Canadian PM Justin Trudeau Blasts BDS Movement as “Anti Semitic”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel “anti-Semitic” during a town hall meeting last week.

Trudeau responded to a member of the audience at Brock University who asked him to retract his earlier condemnation of BDS.

“In Canada we have to recognize that there are things that aren’t acceptable, not because of foreign policy concerns, but because of Canadian values,” Trudeau replied.

“It’s not right to discriminate or to make someone feel unsafe on campus because of their religion, and unfortunately the BDS movement is often linked to those kinds of frames,” he added.

Trudeau referenced the ‘Three-D’ test proposed by Natan Sharansky to determine when criticism of the State of Israel crosses the line into anti-Semitism: “demonization of Israel, a double standard around Israel and a delegitimization of the State of Israel.”

  1. Translation: I actually have thought out policy positions based on real values.

Trudeau quotes his good friend Irwin Cotler who as a Liberal MP stood up for human rights around the world and defended Israel from demonization.

  2. crazykanoiy, do you know what Irwin Cotler’s support of “human rights” entails?
It is anti-Torah on several fronts.

  3. crazykanoiy, i am not surprised you share values with Trudeau, who allowed ISIS terrorists return back to Canada and rewarded convicted alQueda terrorist with $10M. Trudeau is charlatan who will say anything to any crowd he is shaken down for money at the moment.

  4. He should come educate some of our democratic friends here in Congress perhaps coming from a liberal ..

However He does end up by comparing the settlements to the bds movement.

  5. Ready Now: Read up on Cotler’s lifelong work. Do some research. Everyone knows his position as Justice Minister in the Martin government but that in no way diminshes all the excellent work that he has done to help people throughout his career.

  6. Moshe In Golus – The above Video makes it abundantly clear that Trudeau will not say anything just to please a crowd.

  7. crazykanoiy, Torah does not allow us to deviate from the words of Torah neither left or right.
I heard him (Cotler) speak and it was not good.

  8. Ready Now: Do you post the same comment every time Alan Dershowitz is quoted on this site?
Irwin Cotler has done great work for many human beings. He is a staunch defender of Israel. Saying so does not mean that one approves of every position that he holds. Saying that Cotler has done good work is not a deviation from Torah.

  9. crazykanoiy, Torah does not allow us to deviate from the words of Torah neither left or right.
So how rotten and devious it is to change Hashem’s Word?

    Devious and disgusting FULL STOP.
We do not need Cotler’s “help” !
