Motzei Shabbos News Round-Up From Israel; IDF Kills 2 Palestinian Stone Throwers


Security Forces eliminated two terrorists over the course of Shabbos. One terrorist was throwing stones at passing cars near Kfar Silwad just north of the Jewish town of Ofra. The second terrorist threatened the lives of IDF soldiers during the weekly Friday riots in the Gaza Strip.

On Friday, more than 10,000 Gazans took part in the weekly violent protests along the border fence with Israel. Hand grenades, as well as improvised explosive devices, were thrown at IDF soldiers. The protesters lit tires on fire and cut the border fence in multiple places. A few Gazans crossed through the fence and into Israeli territory before heading back into Gaza.

During a car chase in Jerusalem, a Palestinian was killed while driving a stolen car. A Police spokesperson said: “The suspect threatened the lives of officers and other drivers on the road. This necessitated that police open fire on the fleeing vehicle.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu offered Israeli aid and assistance in the search for missing persons to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro after a dam collapsed near the city of Brumadinho in the south-eastern state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. Bolsonaro thanked Netanyahu for the offer and agreed to accept the assistance. Search and Rescue teams from Israel are preparing and will be heading to Brazil in the next 24 hours.

A Haifa couple attacked a Doctor, nurse and security officer in Bnei Tzion hospital. The couple claimed that they committed the attack due to having to wait to long for treatment.

Three people were killed in a car accident that occurred on Highway 90 between Kibbutz Gufrit and Yatvata on Friday. The fatalities were a man and a woman in their 70s and a man in his 40s. United Hatzalah volunteers and teams from Magen David Adom responded to the incident but were forced to pronounce the deaths of the three people at the scene.

A young boy (age 3) was killed and his sister and parents were seriously injured in a car accident that took place between two vehicles on Highway 806 in the lower Galilee between Maghar and Hazon.

A driver who was driving suspiciously was apprehended by the police after a vehicle chase in the Negev. The driver, a 32-year-old man from Rahat, had 23 bottles of empty beer in his car. The driver was found to be intoxicated and had never gotten a license.

A motorcyclist is in serious condition after his vehicle slipped near the mall in Upper Nazareth. Another motorcyclist was seriously injured after he was involved in an accident on Highway 4 with another vehicle.

Argentinian officials say that they have apprehended an Israeli man who is suspected of double homicide after his mother and aunt went missing. The suspect, Gil Pereg, is being detained after he an item in his possession was found to have blood stains on it. The missing women, Farchia Saroussi and Lili Pereg still have not been found. They two women went missing near the city of Mendoza in the eastern side of Argentina some two weeks ago.

In Greece, a memorial to the Salonika cemetery that was destroyed by the Nazis in 1942 was destroyed over Shabbos. The memorial was built in the Salonika University. Management of the University condemned the actions. This is the fourth time that unknown suspects have destroyed the memorial.
