Victims Airlifted After Serious MVA Near Mitzpei Yericho Jct. [VIDEO & PHOTOS]


There was a serious collision on Route 1 near Mitzpei Yericho Junction on Wednesday morning, shortly before 5:00AM, involving one vehicle which appears to have lost control, veering into concrete safety abutments.

Magen David Adom reports that EMTs and paramedics treated a total of five victims, including a 4-year-old boy with serious trauma. He was transported by helicopter to the emergency room of Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital, listed in serious/critical condition.

A woman in her 30s was trapped in the vehicle and fire rescue had to extricate her from the crumbled remains of the vehicle. She was listed in serious condition with a head injury, also transported by military chopper after being sedated and intubated.

The driver of the vehicle, a male in his 30s, was transported in moderate-to-serious condition by a Red Crescent ambulance to a Yericho hospital. Another male 35, was reported in serious condition with injuries to his abdomen and extremities. He was transported to the trauma center of Shaare Zedek Hospital.

The last victim, a female in her 20s, was transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in moderate condition with injuries to her abdomen and extremities.
