Hamas officials are signaling they will respond to an Egyptian ceasefire initiative by Thursday.

Hamas may be willing to change its earlier position demanding a cessation of Israeli troop operations in Yehuda and Shomron at the same time a ceasefire is implemented in Gaza, now considering a move that would only impact Gaza.

According to the Egyptian state-run al-Ahram newspaper on Tuesday, Egypt has drafted a proposal for a ceasefire that would hopefully bring an immediate temporary halt to fighting in Gaza.
