83-year-old Ben-Ami Kadish, who was arrested by US Federal Authorities on Tuesday, was released on bail. The elderly former naval engineer stands accused of passing classified information to Israel in the 1980s, including data on nuclear weapons and fighter jets.

Kadish, a mechanical engineer, was employed in a military installation in New Jersey. He was taken into custody in New Jersey by federal agents and was arraigned in a Manhattan court and released on bail of $300,000.

Kadish faces a four-count criminal indictment, including acting as an Israeli agent.
