El Al Reports Over 250 Employees Have Been Vaccinated against Measles


The 43-year-old El Al flight attendant who contracted measles during a flight from New York is suspected of having brain damage due to the complications that resulted from the illness. The woman was hospitalized on March 31, 2019 in Meir Hospital in Kfar Sava, and developed meningitis, which is a known complication of the measles.

Since her case was reported, the Ministry of Health instructed all local airlines to make certain their employees are vaccinated against measles. In the case of the flight attendant above, it has been learned that she only had the first of the two measles vaccinations.

Since she reportedly contracted measles, El Al reports over 250 employees have been vaccinated against the measles as the company set up a mini clinic, permitting employees to be vaccinated Ben-Gurion International Airport.
