HEART-STOPPING FOOTAGE: Cyclist Nearly Killed By Van in Bnei Brak

This heart stopping footage was captured on security camera, and sent to YWN by the homeowner, photographer David Zer.

It happened on Thursday, Lag B’Omer, on Kalish Street in Bnei Brak, at the entrance to the “Beit Knesset Hagadol” near rabbi Akiva Street.

Homeowners have been complaining for years that many people reverse their vehicles off this street due to not having an exit out of the block. Many pedestrians have been struck by vehicle on this street over the years.

In this incident, a van realized he was stuck, so placed the vehicle into reverse, not noticing a man riding a bicycle behind him. He nearly crushes the man to death, but was stopped at the very last second due to people nearby screaming to alert the driver.

Bichasdei Hashem, the man was not injured.

  1. Not to relieve the van driver of not being careful but the cyclist should have seen the van’s back up lights were on and not ridden directly behind the van.
