Failed Tiveria Mayor Ron Kobi Launches Knesset Campaign

The current Mayor of Tiveria, who could not get a coalition inside the city government to pass the budget, announced on Sunday that he will be running for the Knesset under a new party that he has called “The Secular Right”.

After being under the gun in his city, and with his fate hanging in the balance of what will soon be a decision by the Internal Ministry with regards to how the city of Tiveria is run, it appears that Ron Kobi has set his sights on the Knesset.

Many people think that Koby is a supporter of the Likud party, his recent meeting with Netanyahu in the city of Tevaria only strengthened that hypothesis.

It is expected that Koby is targeting the voter base of Avigdor Lieberman whom he has publicly attacked in numerous speeches and interviews thus far. Koby has also stated that he intends to put forth major party platforms that include an anti-Chareidi agenda and the proposal of public transportation on Shabbos, both selling points for Lieberman’s Yisrael Beiteinu party.

  1. Most ideal outcome is that he takes lots of votes away from Lieberman’s party, and they both don’t cross the threshold.
That would be a big favour for the chareidim.
    Thanks 👍
