Bayit Yehudi Launches Campaign For Right-Wing Unity But Excludes Ben-Gvir & Feiglin

The Bayit Yehudi party has launched an achdus campaign, seeking to bring back Naftali Bennet and Ayelet Shaked, but the party is no longer including Moshe Feiglin who heads the Zehut party, or Itamar Ben-Gvir who heads the Otzma Yehudi party in the call to return.

Feiglin has already announced he will not unite with Bayit Yehudi as he feels his party may not be identified as a religious one. Ben-Gvir announced the deal with Bayit Yehudi was broken by Bayit Yehudi chairman, Rabbi Rafi Peretz, who did not implement the Norwegian Law to permit him to enter Knesset, and therefore, he announced Otzma Yehudit would not run with Bayit Yehudi in the upcoming election.

According to the campaign, a poll conducted by Magar Mochot shows 49% favor bringing back Shaked and Bennet to the party, which would remain under the leadership of Peretz. The campaign also mention’s Smotrich’s Ichud Leumi party.

Bayit Yehudi leaders feel Otzma Yehudit brought between 15,000 – 25,000 votes in the last election, but Ben-Gvir reports higher numbers, which are not based in fact. According to Ben-Gvir, his party brought 70,000 votes to the united list.

  1. To be fair, the Norwegian Law is irrelevant in a transient government so no agreement was broken. Mr Ben Gvirs accusation is unfounded and as much as I understand his disappointment, he would have been wiser to wait, support the right wing bloc and hope for better terms. His position is Avigdor Leibermans fault and not Peretz/ Smotrich’s.

  2. Feigling cannot be in until drops that transgender from his Party-list and changes something this newfangled philosophy
