A young Palestinian deemed suspicious by police, was instructed to halt and identify himself. Instead, he pulled a knife and tried to stab one of the policemen. A policeman fired at him, and he was transported to a hospital.

The incident occurred on Monday night evening in Hadera, as a police patrol saw a young suspicious Arab male, instructing him to identify himself. He however brandished a knife, which he used to try to stab one of the officers. One of the police drew his weapon and fired at the assailant. After he was checked by a bomb squad technician to be certain he was not carrying any explosive device, he was transported to Hillel Yafeh Hospital in Hadera.

Police report the suspect is a 21-year-old resident of the PA (Palestinian Authority), and police are probing the motive for the incident towards determining if it was an attempted terror attack.
