Minister Ze’ev Elkin Calls On Chareidim To Vote Likud

Minister Ze’ev Elkin announced, “in order to save Bibi – chareidim must vote Likud”. According to Elkin, “Certainly calling on the chareidim, not just to vote Likud but to register Likud, to have an influence on Likud. I think the Likud today is home to many sectors in the State of Israel”.

Elkin told Kikar Shabbos News “everyone understand that in order for the right-wing to succeed, including the chareidi parties, the success is no longer a mandate at a time, but the success will come when Netanyahu can establish a right-wing government”.

PM Netanyahu has begun pressuring the smaller right-wing parties as well, specifically the Zehut party headed by Moshe Feiglin. According to a News13 report, he has offered to pay Zehut’s election debt, over NIS 3 million, towards persuading Feiglin to drop out of the race, fearing he will once again be the cause of throwing many right-wing voters in the trash.

Now the Prime Minister is working to attract chareidim, which may harm the Yahadut Hatorah party. Just this week, Likud appointed MK Dr. Shlomo Karhi to head the party’s first-even chareidi unit ahead of the election. Karhi is a talmid of HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita, Rosh Yeshivat Kisei Rachamim and reportedly connected in both the sephardi and ashkenazi chareidi communities.
