Ayelet Shaked Fasts For The First Time On Tisha B’Av

During an interview that Ayelet Shaked did on Galei Tzahal with Reno Tzror, she announced that for the first time she fasted this year on Tisha B’Av because she is the head of a consortium of Religious Zionist political parties in the United Right.

“I have never in my life fasted before on Tisha B’Av,” she told Tzror. “This I year I decided to fast because I am leading a united group of religious parties.”

The interview was given on the topic of the closure of the Har Habayis to Jews on Tisha B’Av, which occurred early on in the morning.

It was later opened to Jews who went up to pray. As a result of the opening Palestinian worshippers clashed with Israeli Security Forces. During the clash, numerous protestors were reported injured on the Tample Mount itself. Some of the reports in Israeli media also stated that the head of the Waqf, Abbed Al-Azim Salhab was himself injured.

    In the past

  2. bez”h perhaps she will become shomer torah u’mitzvos. kol hakovod for her attitude. one small step in the right direction.

  3. Nice publicity stunt. Try keeping Shabbos now. Is this supposed to make believe that she’s fit to lead the National “Religious” parties?

  4. Yehuda2001.
She fasted with unity in mind.
You fasted with disunity in mind.
Which do you honestly think HaShem favors?

  5. heckter chalavim and you fasted because of peer pressure, conformity, etc. or a real sense of not having the unity that will bring the messianic age?> it appears pretty clear. if you are judged this way by God in 2 months, make sure everything is in order.

  6. well…. The Steipler ztz’l used to say the first thing a ba’al teshuvah should take upon himself is to stop eating treifos- because that is metamtem halev and they won’t get anywhere whilst eating treifos…… So at least she stopped eating treifos for a while….who knows where it may lead……..

  7. she is a prime candidate to be a chozer btsheuva, considering she grew up amongst atheists in tel aviv she has come far.

  8. “Call it out for what it is; Fasting for Votes.”

She did not have to fast to get votes. She could have been quiet and let people assume whatever they want.
Tisha B’Av just ended and you seem to have forgotten why we commemorate it. A Tinok SheMishba is still Amiecha.
