The suspects stole NIS 16,000 cash inside an envelope from the vehicle of a Jerusalem resident and then went on a shopping spree. Police arrested two minors in the case, ages 13 and 15.

Police became involved after receiving a complaint from the owner of the vehicle whose money was stolen when he parked to enter a store, only to return and realize his money had been stolen.

Police report that it appears immediately after stealing the envelope with the cash, the two went on a shopping spree, purchasing an electric bicycle, a smartphone and more. Some of the remaining money and an additional NIS 1,000 were recovered from the homes of the suspects.

The two were questioned by police earlier in the week and released with restrictions.
