Jerusalem Cleanup Reform Continues with Citywide Motzei Shabbos Garbage Pick Up

As of the end of the month, garbage will be collected throughout Jerusalem on motzei Shabbos.

Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon said the following: “We are progressing to a very significant stage in the cleanup reform that I declared during my election campaign, with the expansion of the motzei Shabbos garbage collection program for the entire city. The environmental vision in which we live and the quality of life in the city are key factors for progress in all areas; social, economic, and employment. I think a clean well-groomed city will attract strong residents, successful businesses, emerging ventures and thus bring economic and employment development.”

The motzei Shabbos garbage removal program began in April 2019 in a number of frum neighborhoods of the capital, then expanding later on. At this point, it has been decided that the city’s sanitation department will remove garbage every motzei Shabbos from all areas of the city beginning with the beginning of September 2019.
