Levaya of HaRav HaChossid Rav Shmuel Tukachinsky ZT”L

Just a week after his 78th birthday, HaRav HaChossid Rav Shmuel Tukachinsky ZT”L was niftar. The niftar, a Breslov Chossid residing in Bnei Brak, was seventh generation Yerushalmi, from the Tukachinsky family from Eitz Chaim.

The niftar was born in Yerushalayim on 16 Kislev 5702 to Rav Nissan Aharon Tukachinsky ZT”L, who ran the Eitz Chaim institutions. His grandson, HaGaon Rav Yechiel Michel Tukachinsky ZT”L published the famous Luach Eretz Yisrael.

During his young years, the niftar learned in Talmid Torah Eitz Chaim in Yerushalayim and later on, Ponevezh. He married the daughter of Rav Ze’ev Liebermentch ZT”L.

He was known to be a talmid chacham and was involved in kashrus for years. He would fly around the world for various kashrus companies. The niftar was a regular participant at shiurim of HaGaon Rav Zilberstein, Mora D’asra of Ramat Elchanan, and he was close to the rav as well.

Because he did not merit children, the tzibur is asked to be mispallel for his neshama, Rav Shmuel ben Rav Nissan Aharon. He was also a brother-in-law to prominent Breslov Rosh Kollel HaGaon Rav Natan Koenig ZT”L.

The levaya began at 2:00PM from his home at 5 Landau Street in Bnei Brak, via the Breslov Kollel to Har HaZeisim for kvura.
