Police Rescue Three Children From Flooded Shack Near Tzefat

On Wednesday, Israel Police received a phone call from a worried father stating that his children were alone with a babysitter at their home in a shack near Tzefat and that the shack was flooding. The father, who was at work in Kfar Saba, alerted the police and asked them to rescue his children after his daughter called him and told him that they could no longer stand on the floor due to flooding.

The house was located in the Ba’al Shem Tov Forest just south of the city. Officers from the local station rushed to the location of the house and were forced to approach and enter on foot. They found the home that was situated in a clearing in the forest and evacuated three children from the home. The children, ages 16, 4 and 1.5, were brought to the police station in Tzefat and were looked after by the police who brought them warm clothes and, working with social services, found an alternate home for them.

Officers at the scene reported: “It broke our hearts to see these young children in such a situation. We are comforted by the knowledge that we were able to lend a hand and help them recover from this incident.”
