Spokesman for Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Mark Regev reports that Israel and the United States “are on the same page” regarding the Iranian nuclear threat, expressing satisfaction over the recent visit of US President George W. Bush.

Regev added that both countries are aware of the need for “tangible action,” stating Iran cannot be permitted to achieve nuclear independence.

Regarding diplomatic pressure against Iran, Mr. Regev expressed optimism in this area, but quickly added if diplomatic efforts do not achieve their intended goal, other steps would be taken.
