A horrible tragedy occurred in Jerusalem on Thursday morning when a Chareidi woman was fatally hit by a garbage truck on Rechov Yafo near the Central Bus Station.
The woman, 63, is a resident of Ramot.
Emergency responders were called to the scene at 11:53 a.m. and performed prolonged resuscitation techniques but were ultimately forced to declare her death.
Preliminary reports indicate that she was hit by the truck as she was crossing the street at the crosswalk, incurring a severe head injury.
The police have opened an investigation into the incident and are questioning the truck driver.

BDE.so sorry to hear this. it is about time that crossing guards be established at Rechov Yaffo during rush hours and pre Shabbos and pre Yom Tov days to protect the people walking on R. Yaffo.
BDS, a very nice neighbor of ours. She had enough tragedy in her life and now this. She will be remembered by us a as very fine lady.
