The residents of the Greater Sderot Area are in a state of disbelief as two more mortar rockets landed in southern Israel on Monday. Once again, a ceasefire violation, another unprovoked attack, but the grandiose statements released by Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Monday remained just that, statements which are not backed up by actions. There were no retaliatory strikes, the crossings remained open, a goods continued to flow into Hamas-controlled Gaza.

As the mortar shells pounded southern Israel, trucks were rolling into Gaza, bringing cement, fuel, and basic supplies to the over 1 million residents, despite repeated ceasefire violations and ongoing attacks.

Residents of Sderot and the surrounding areas are dumbfounded by the lack of concern exhibited by cabinet ministers and lawmakers, basically going about ‘business as usual’ as the lives of the southern area residents remain in perilous danger.
