President Joe Biden will travel to Israel and onto Jordan Wednesday to meet with both Israeli and Arab leadership, as concerns increase that the raging Israel-Hamas war could expand into a larger regional conflict.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced Biden’s travel to Israel as Israel prepares for a possible ground attack on the 141-square-mile (365-square-kilometer) territory to root out Hamas terrorist responsible for was the most lethal assault against Jews since the Holocaust.

Biden is looking to send the strongest message yet that the U.S. is behind Israel.
His Democratic administration has pledged military support, sending U.S. carriers and aid to the region. Officials have said they would ask Congress for upward of $2 billion in additional aid for both Israel and Ukraine, which is fighting Russia’s invasion.

Blinken made the announcement early Tuesday after more than seven hours of talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other top Israeli officials.

Shortly after in Washington, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby announced that Biden would also go to Jordan to meet with King Abdullah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Biden had been scheduled to travel to Pueblo, Colorado, on Monday but decided to postpone the visit so he could consult with his aides and speak with fellow leaders about the unfolding situation in the Middle East.

  1. Clearly, this will “delay” any IDF ground assault into Gaza since it would be highly unlikely to happen while Biden is on the ground in EY. Presumably, this has been cleared with Netanyahu and the security cabinet but it seems (at least superficially) that international support for Israel is beginning to erode with each additional day that the videos of “Palestinian suffering” in Gaza on the cable news networks has displaced the horrific images of the Hamas attack last week.

  2. The open message is that he stands with Israel, but while he is doing this and also giving aid etc., the hidden agenda is that Biden and the American government should be able to control Israel and tell them when they thing the IDF is going to far by telling them, look we gave all the aid and we have your back but you have to do A B and C, so ultimately this isn’t too good for the yiddin in my opinion.

כל מה שתקנו לא תקנו אלא לצורך עצמם

  3. Please remove the words “Ohev Yisroel ” from your headline before I projectile vomit. Biden is nothing more than a senile demented tool and puppet. Whoever is running his show, probably Obama ym”s, will soon be demanding a humanitarian ceasefire from Israel. Jewish blood is cheap for these disgusting low lives in this evil administration that has all but destroyed the USA. I hope and daven that Bibi stays the course and doesn’t fall for this bumbling idiot’s rhetoric. Hashem runs the show….I feel no gratitude or loyalty to this so called president and his posse. His words from his teleprompter are meaningless if he can actually get them out without his usual mumbling and whisper/screams. I’m sure he will mention that he’s practically Jewish, went to shul every Shabbos, some of his best friends are Jews, etc. Also, how he feel Israel’s pain because we all know how his son, Beau, died in Iraq…..lie after lie!! Hashem yishmor alainu!!

  4. He is coming only to tell Netanayahu to not do ground war. Israel is a weak country and can never finish the job. all this war did was stop the lefties from protesting against the change in governments. most likely this will be a major political blow to him. im so happy modox rabbis and YWN loves biden.

  5. The overwhelming support of the Biden administration to Israel is really Impressing. It’s not only with words but also with active military support. Lev Milochim V’isorim biyad hashem.

  6. Ohev Yisroel >>>>Ohev votes
Meanwhile the odds are, that biden shall make every single Arab demand absolutely dependent upon absolute & immediate & unconditional release of every hostage, and something to the effect of:-
    Yes release hostages>>>Yes deals
No release hostages >>> No deals

  7. To sarah:
Interesting how you make fun of our dear President!?!?
I did a little research a while back about the behavior of the Jewish people and also the behavior of the polish people in Poland during the period between 1933 and 1938. I came across a few articles how the Jewish people (only a few) were saying negative things about the government of Germany.
The polish people were not behaving at all. (most of them)

  8. I will save this post for Parshas Miketz where the question is asked how could the Shivatim not realize that Tzafnas Paneach is Yosef despite all the evidence that he was.

  9. Why is there a question mark in your headline? Biden has been steadfast in his support for Israel. Leading right wing Jews such as Ambassador David Friedman, Jason Greenblatt and Ambassador Michael Oren have hailed his response.

Biden has deployed two carrier groups, resupplied Israel with armaments and is now working on sending 10 Billion in military aid.

Your lack of hakoras hatov and that of the many posters above is revolting and is a clear indication of how partisan politics have warped the minds of all to many. Biden deserves our strong thanks and support.

  10. The Biden administration understands the need to dismantle Hamas and stresses that one of the ways to make sure there is enough time to do it is by avoiding a humanitarian crisis in Gaza,” a senior Israeli official told the Axios news site

  11. Unbelievable that we actually fall for this kind of thing. He’s not there to support us, he’s there to pressure us to “show restraint” and “act proportionately”. In other words, continue to let the people who kill us live so they can continue to kill us, c”v. Our suffering is worth less than nothing to him and his whole party.

  12. Third – you blinked and forgot to say – this is an election year and the president is running for reelection. He needs to garner the eroding Jewish vote – no longer a solid Democrat given! Blink, Blink!

  13. The Palestinians in Gaza are Arabs. Their Arab brethren, the Egyptians couldn’t care anything about them. None of the Arab states in the region care about them sufficiently to take them in as refugees. If Sleepy Joe wants them to have aid let the Egyptians open their border to their dear brothers and help them. The citizens of Gaza elected Hamas to govern and have supported Hamas in government. Why does Israel, who suffered from these subhuman savages now need to help feed them?

  14. crazykanoiy:

The US owes Israel the aid they’re providing. This is all their doing. It’s only due to US pressure that Israel didn’t wipe Hamas off the map over a decade ago. On more than 4 occasions this happened. Hamas would attack Israel, who responds, and then the US pressures Israel into a ceasefire.

The Israeli blood is on America’s hands.

  15. He is not an oheiv Yisrael. Israel will have no choice but to do whatever he wants, to its detriment. It always ends this way. We’ll be back at this point in a very short while.

  16. It’s called election season.

He was FAR from nice to Netanyahu since becoming President. It’s a convenient plug for his campaign, not much more.

  17. If Biden was concerned about election season he would pander to Muslims in Michigan in order to retain that swing state. MSNBC’s Medhi Hassan has bemoaned all the lost Arab votes. Biden has taken on the squad and ignored progressives.

It is truly depressing to see the extent how extreme right wing politics has permeated our political discourse and hatefully blinds so many.

The nonsensical comments above such as “Biden coming to slow down ground invasion” when it was Netanyahu that asked him to come and claiming that America “owes” Israel despite the fact that Israeli intelligence failed miserablely shows how sadly any sense of yashrus, mentchlichkeit and hakaros hatov has been lost over the past years of obsession with right wing politics
