The Ministry of Defense and the IDF announced the evacuation of the northern city of Kiryat Shmona’s, Friday morning. The residents will be taken to state-subsidized guesthouses.
The implementation of the evacuation program was approved by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The IDF notified the mayor of Kiryat Shmona a on Friday morning.
The move comes amid numerous rocket and anti-tank missile attacks against Israeli targets by Hezbollah terrorists. Three people were wounded in Kiryat Shmona on Thursday in a rocket attack.
Kiryat Shmona’s population numbers about 24,000 people.
