Tel Aviv Area: 2 Million Israelis Run To Shelters: Rocket Hits Rishon, Shrapnel Falls In School Yard

A large rocket barrage launched by Hamas terrorists in Gaza at central Israel sent about two million Israelis running to protected spaces midday Sunday, according to an estimate by Channel 12.

Sirens blared in multiple cities, including Tel Aviv, Hertziliya, Hod HaSharon, Kfar Saba, Holon, Rishon L’Tzion, and Ramat HaSharon.

B’Chadei Hashem, no injuries were reported except for one man who was injured running to a protective space in Hertziliya.

Parts of a rocket fell in the city of Rishon L’Tzion. Police sappers rushed to the scene and carried out searches for rocket parts that may contain explosives.

Rocket shrapnel fell in the courtyard of a school in Ramat HaSharon. Fortunately, the students were in the school shelter at the time.

The IDF’s Home Front Command has instructed Israelis to remain in bomb shelters for ten minutes after a siren is heard due to the chances of rocket shrapnel falling in populated areas minutes after the rocket was intercepted or fell.
