A gift of NIS 300 million earmarked for Ashkelon bomb shelters will significantly contribute to improving conditions in the southern city’s bomb shelters.
According to Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, who heads the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, which sponsored the gift, the move will permit refurbishing 300 bomb shelters in the southern portion of the city which is within Hamas rocket-range.
Eckstein explains that the areas of the city under attack are those whose residents are low-income, and unable to undertake such a task on their own. The improvements in the bomb shelters he explains will make it considerably easier when residents are compelled to remain in the protective enclosures during attacks.
