A burglar, an Arab resident of the eastern capital, was apprehended in the Har Nof home of former Shas leader Aryeh Deri at about 5:00pm. The man was attempting to enter with the code for the home’s burglar alarm system, which police are trying to learn just how he obtained it.

Deri was home, and realizing what was going on, began to shout, alerting neighbors, who apprehended the perpetrator, holding him until police arrive.
