25 specially trained dogs are schedule to arrive in Israel on Tuesday from the Czech Republic. About half of the new force will be what is being called “regular patrol dogs” and the remainder is specially trained to sniff out explosive materials and drugs. Each of the German Sheppard dogs costs €3,000.

Officials report that in the past, dogs were purchased from Holland and Germany but today, the “quality dogs” are in the Czech Republic and Eastern Europe.

Upon their arrival, the dogs will be turned over to their handlers and together, they will undergo a six month training program in Israel.
