Cabinet Approves Funding of Efforts from MIA/POW Families

The cabinet on Sunday gave formal approval of a bill that will permit the government to fund efforts of families of IDF soldiers listed as “missing in action” and “prisoner of war”, intended to facilitate their efforts on behalf of their loved ones.

The funds will be allocated by a special committee, which will be headed by the head of the Defense Ministry’s political-security division, Amos Gilad. Funding will be allocated towards funding the families’ efforts towards obtaining the release of their loved ones, such as Gilad Shalit, including trips abroad and other efforts.
