At the same time as Iran targeted northern Israel with another barrage of ballistic missiles on Motzei Shabbos, there were reports of an Israeli airstrike on a Houthi target in Yemen.

According to Israeli media outlets, the target of the strike was Houthi Army chief of staff Mohammed Al-Ghamari.

At this point, the result of the assassination attempt is unknown.

A Yemeni security source told Ynet that Al-Ghamari is also the head of the missile program. The attack targeted his headquarters, which he used to hold meetings and maintain contact with Iran. According to one assessment, a meeting of several senior officials was taking place at the headquarters when the attack took place.

Al-Ghamari underwent training in Iran and was responsible for coordination between Iran and the Houthis. The source said he is among “the most dangerous,” and if his death is confirmed, it would be a painful blow to Iran and the Houthis. He added that senior Houthi officials are “in a panic” in the wake of the airstrike.
