The crisis surrounding the conscription of bnei yeshivos is deepening, with dozens of aveichim and bochurim arrested in recent days and transferred to military police.

On Sunday, the traffic police in Kiryat Ata detained a Chareidi man on Sunday and called the military police to the scene. He was arrested and transferred to prison.

Channel 12 News reported that Chareidi protesters were called to the area, but the military police managed to drive away from the station before they arrived.

As of Sunday, the day before Rosh Hashanah, about 100 bnei yeshivos are behind bars. Many of them are avreichim—including a chassan arrested during his Sheva Brachos—and they will be forced to spend Rosh Hashanah away from their families.

Meanwhile, the UK, Canada announced their unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state on Sunday at the UN General Assembly in New York. HaGaon HaRav Moshe Maya, a member of the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah of Shas, connected the political tsunami unleashed against Israel to a loss of Siyata Dishmaya caused by its unprecedented battle against lomdei Torah.

  1. Keep shooting yourselves in the foot. The more you persecute them financially the more you spend on defense, the more you persecute them physically the more the World Turns against you. And the more you sanction them the more countries sanction Israel. Get a clue and leave them alone and start to go after all the cushy luxuries the Israeli Arabs get instead for giving nothing

  2. Thousands of soldiers and reservists will also have to spend Rosh Hashana away from their families. No sympathy for arrested draft dodgers, they don’t deserve better treatment than those defending Am Yisrael from a modern day Amalek.

  3. “Olam Hafuch Ra’isi” – the world is upside down. I see all the hue and cry about these “poor Bnei Yeshiva” sitting safely in prison, where they’re provided with three Kosher meals per day and have access to the Shul to daven – but ZERO talk about the Bnei Yeshiva who will be spending Rosh Hashanah away from their families because they’re putting their lives on the line in Gaza to defend their fellow Jews. I am aware that several Yeshivot Hesder have had just about the entire Shiur Hey – a year that is ordinarily spent learning in Yeshiva – called up, simply because there’s nobody else to cover for them. But somehow, that’s OK in the eyes of the Chareidi community, since they’re not “from our Beis Medrash” – so theyre not as important.

What a bizayon – what a Chilul Hashem – what a lack of caring for one’s fellow Jews.

  4. I await the day where those spoke against our holy rabbis and celebrated the arrests of those committed to Torah burn publicly to a crisp and we will all celebrate their and finally. You have nothing to gain with your smudge campaign and if you really think the Third Temple and Redemption is going to come to the people who spat at the rabbis you should really take the message to heart and reconsider your position

Lomdei Torah are exempt, not draft-dodgers. And the chareidim begged the Zionists a century ago to leave them alone and not invade and cause trouble, but the wicked Zionists didn’t care, of course. The wicked Zionists chose to start their forever wars, and need to leave the Jews out of it.

    anIsraeliZionist:
Yes, A”Z is irrational, which explains your comment. See the above paragraph to address your Zionist rant about hesder. The “Religious Zionists” are welcome to drop their idolatry and rejoin unadulterated Klal Yisrael by simply being “Religious”/Jewish.

  6. @reb”Emes” – even according to your Shita, you should be hoping for those you see as misguided to do Teshuva, not to “burn to a crisp”. That’s certainly my hope for you.
